About this role

Join us as a Relationship Director in Corporate Banking, where you'll provide financial services to corporate customers by engaging them with respect, professionalism and credibility in all situations. You'll be building relationships with and managing our clients within the healthcare sector, in line with our customer strategy and marketing plans.

Your time will be split between client meetings at their premises and collaborating with colleagues in our London office a minimum of two days a week, with the remainder working remotely. You'll develop a robust network of external contacts across the wider business community to support lead generation and origination.

You'll use your leadership and motivational skills to manage a sub team, contributing to the performance and sustainable profitability of your function. You'll also provide line management to an Assistant Relationship Director, ensuring credit stewardship responsibilities are carried out and high quality lending is maintained.

This is an opportunity to really make this role your own, allowing excellent exposure for you and your work. You'll have the chance to achieve a Diploma in Lending Skills, a professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers, with 18 months to complete your studies tailored to your individual learning needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a financial role with a clear understanding of credit markets and best practice in lending
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex corporate situations, anticipate future business trends and evaluate strategic options
  • Background in providing imaginative and creative solutions to complex problems
  • Strong understanding of the relevant businesses and underlying products
  • Ability to communicate with impact to senior level within the business, other professionals and with customers
  • Strong customer focus and excellent relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to formulate or deliver a business strategy

Responsibilities

  • Develop an origination strategy for the creation of new customers within the healthcare sector
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships at all levels across the bank, ensuring a cooperative approach to lead generation
  • Manage a sub team, using leadership and motivational skills to drive performance and sustainable profitability
  • Provide line management to an Assistant Relationship Director
  • Ensure all credit and operational risk policies are understood and adhered to
  • Work with and support your team to maintain high quality of new and existing lending
  • Engage corporate customers with respect, professionalism and credibility in all situations
