CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, seeking talented professionals dedicated to clients. The role supports and manages credit relationships for a portfolio focused on large European fund managers and European banks. In time, expand to other NBFI industries and banks in additional jurisdictions.
Work with trading floor businesses to structure credit facilities mitigating risks in derivatives and trading products. Conduct in-depth counterparty, industry, and portfolio analysis. Monitor credit quality and global exposure amid financial, industry, and economic trends.
Build relationships with CIBC marketers and traders, responding quickly to credit facility requests. Participate in due diligence with Legal, Documentation, trading room, and Risk Management. Thrive in a challenging environment demanding rapid responses under time pressures.
Provide expertise in trading floor credit risks and sound recommendations based on thorough analysis. Ensure portfolio adherence to risk guidelines and evolving methodologies. Partner with trading personnel to deliver timely client results while focusing on detail in financial reviews.
Requirements
- Develop and maintain high level of knowledge of derivative and other trading floor business products
- Assess factors affecting customer risk profile quickly to make timely decisions
- Work in challenging environment with time pressures demanding rapid response to trading floor requests
- Focused attention to detail when reviewing financial information and preparing credit applications
- Work in team environment sharing skills and knowledge
- Minimum 2 years experience in credit risk analysis for fund manager/fund clients and/or bank counterparties
- Sound knowledge of derivatives documentation, notably ISDA
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth counterparty, industry and portfolio analysis supporting credit relationships for large European fund managers and banks
- Monitor credit quality and global credit exposure of the portfolio by tracking counterparty financial condition, industry and economic trends
- Build and maintain relationships with CIBC marketers/traders and respond quickly to requests for credit facilities from the trading floor
- Provide expertise in credit risk associated with trading floor business products
- Assist in ongoing monitoring of terms and conditions of approved credit arrangements and identify changes in client financial condition or business
- Participate in due diligence and support activities involving Legal, Documentation, trading room marketers and Risk Management
- Provide sound, timely recommendations for credit facilities supported by thorough analysis of financial, industry, business and market information
- Ensure portfolio meets risk management guidelines and stays current with changing methodologies
