We are looking for a Compliance Officer to lead the regulatory compliance function for Planet’s UK based payment institution. The successful candidate will hold the position as Planet’s UK Compliance Officer under the FCA authorised payment institution license. You will manage the license and act as primary contact with the FCA.

Report to the Head of Risk & Compliance in the UK, with the Group LRC function led by the Chief Legal Officer. Coordinate regulatory obligations across Planet’s entities in the 1st line of defense. Work in a challenging and evolving environment with attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a compliance professional at a payment services provider, financial institution, bank, Fintech, financial regulatory agency, or professional services firm
  • Concentration or affiliation with UK regulatory bodies
  • Experience creating and delivering regulatory reporting
  • Expert knowledge of best practice risk management and governance frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience in merchant acquiring payments, gateway, e-money or wallet products and services, banking functions, and/or merchant processing
  • Strong academic record to degree level supported by relevant sector related qualifications
  • Ability to manage in challenging and evolving environments with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Hold the position as Planet’s UK Compliance Officer under the FCA authorised payment institution license
  • Manage Planet’s payment institution license and act as primary contact with the FCA for regulatory returns and requests
  • Develop and maintain a risk-based compliance management programme for merchant acquiring business
  • Own and develop policies, procedures, and controls for regulatory requirements including safeguarding of funds
  • Perform risk assessments on products, services, processes, and tools to identify and mitigate risks
  • Develop compliance KPIs to report to the Group Compliance team and enterprise
  • Horizon scan and report on regulatory developments with suggestions for policy enhancements
  • Provide training, guidance, and thought leadership on compliance and regulatory risk issues
