About this role

The role consists of providing actuarial pricing and portfolio management support to the Chubb Overseas General (COG) Commercial Insurance (CI) Underwriting Team. The role-holder will be the actuarial lead for all CI and DCI (digital commercial insurance) actuaries. They should be a strong leader with knowledge of multi-line commercial digital/non-digital insurance.

The role-holder plays a pivotal role in shaping and informing this rapidly growing and transforming area of the business. They will be a key contributor to the direction of the pricing team and responsible for the management and delivery of pricing projects. This involves playing a pivotal role in business transformation.

The role-holder will liaise closely with pricing teams in each geographic region, the global catastrophe modelling unit, the ceded reinsurance team, the claims function, reserving and capital modelling teams. The role reports to the Head of Pricing for COG (Property and Casualty), with a matrix to the Head of CI & Specialty, COG. Collaboration ensures aligned strategies across functions.

Key focus includes designing best practice frameworks for portfolio monitoring and conducting profitability studies. The role involves reviewing regional capabilities and peer reviews to maintain consistency. Opportunities exist to influence portfolio strategies in a global environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified actuary
  • Significant experience in actuarial pricing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-line digital insurance products and markets
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex pricing projects
  • Experience of working in a global or multi-regional environment highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Provide actuarial pricing and portfolio management support to the CI Underwriting Team
  • Act as the actuarial lead for all CI and DCI actuaries
  • Shape and inform multi-line commercial digital/non-digital insurance business direction
  • Manage and deliver pricing projects
  • Liaise with pricing teams in each geographic region, global catastrophe modelling unit, ceded reinsurance team, claims, reserving and capital modelling teams
  • Design and promote a best practice framework for portfolio monitoring
  • Review regional capabilities, outcomes, and development roadmaps; provide feedback on gaps
  • Collaborate with management to establish regular portfolio review meetings and improve profitability
