About this role

This role sits within the Customer Finance Directorate, working closely with the commercial team through commission business partnering. It plays a key role in enabling effective cost control and commercial optimisation of the frontline commission scheme. The position is central to the design and ongoing evolution of the Channel Cost per Transaction model, optimising costs and informing strategic distribution decisions.

Develop and maintain cost per transaction reporting against targets for each channel and sub-channel. Track actuals versus targets with variance analysis, providing narratives and PowerPoint outputs for channel director reviews. Actively use data to identify optimisation opportunities and incorporate value reporting for a rounded view of channel performance.

Act as the finance business partner for frontline commissions, collaborating closely with the commercial commissions team on budgeting, month-end, and flash processes. Participate in the monthly Commission board attended by channel directors and commercial teams. Provide inputs into Group transformation tracking documents with relevant commentary.

Locations include London, Bristol or Birmingham with hybrid working: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Attention to Detail with experience of financial analysis/modelling
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and work across multiple teams
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with ability to analyse data for next steps and recommendations
  • Strong communication skills to articulate clear key messages to senior management
  • Ability to identify root causes through financial analysis with logical thought process
  • Proven ability to create strong links with business partners and other areas of Finance
  • Ability to change direction quickly to new requests, delivering high quality outputs

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and report against targets for cost per transaction for each channel / sub channel
  • Work with wider finance teams for channel cost inputs, track actuals vs targets, perform variance analysis and optimise with narrative
  • Provide PowerPoint outputs for channel director reviews with further analysis and deep dives as required
  • Actively use data to find opportunities and areas for optimisation
  • Draw in value reporting information to provide a rounded view of channel performance
  • Act as commissions business partner for frontline commissions, handling budgeting, month end, flash processes, scheme understanding, variance analysis and challenge
  • Participate in the monthly Commission board attended by channel directors and commercial teams
  • Provide inputs into Group transformation tracking documents on a monthly basis with relevant commentary
