About this role
This role advances the reputation of Lloyds Banking Group through innovative communication plans that evidence effective storytelling. You'll create and deliver integrated, multi-channel plans that build pride in the Group, while guiding corporate communications for Business & Commercial Banking, serving approximately one million UK businesses.
Reporting to the Director of Communications for Commercial, you'll set out external and internal communications activity. From finding compelling stories and leading integrated campaigns to handling inbound enquiries from politicians and media and delivering townhalls, no two days are the same.
Group Corporate Affairs is an award-winning team providing the insight, counsel, and challenge the Group needs to deliver its strategic objectives. You'll work closely with specialists across media relations, internal communications, public affairs, digital, social, and marketing to create best-in-class activity.
You'll champion the communications needs and opportunities facing Business & Commercial Banking, exploring innovative ways to share stories that showcase their crucial role in the Group's transformation. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on how the Group is recognised for helping Britain prosper.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a multi-disciplinary communications environment, delivering integrated campaigns.
- Ability to provide strategic counsel on issues affecting reputation, working closely with senior leaders.
- Experience in media relations and public affairs, handling inbound enquiries from journalists and politicians.
- Strong track record of leading matrix teams to deliver best-in-class communications across channels.
- Excellent creative storytelling skills, with the ability to find and share compelling narratives.
- Knowledge of the business banking sector or financial services is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver integrated communications strategies to support the Business & Commercial Banking Business Unit.
- Work closely with teams across Group Corporate Affairs and subject matter experts, providing strategic counsel on reputation issues.
- Champion the communications needs and opportunities facing BCB, exploring innovative ways to share stories that showcase their role in the Group's transformation.
- Lead matrix teams or squads to deliver integrated campaigns, bringing together media relations, internal communications, public affairs, digital, social, and marketing.
- Create relationships with communications specialists to identify, prioritise, and deliver impactful communications promoting the Group and commercial brands (Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland).
- Handle inbound enquiries from politicians and media, and deliver townhalls to engage employees.
- Find and tell compelling stories that build pride in the Group and evidence effective storytelling.
