Support and manage credit relationships for a portfolio focused on large European fund managers and banks in Northern Europe. In time, adopt responsibility for hedge fund relationships and banks in other jurisdictions. Work with trading floor businesses to structure credit facilities mitigating risks in derivatives and trading products.
Build and maintain relationships with CIBC marketers and traders, responding quickly to credit facility requests. Participate in due diligence with Legal, Documentation, trading room marketers, and Risk Management. Provide expertise in credit risk associated with trading floor business products.
Conduct in-depth counterparty, industry, and portfolio analysis. Monitor credit quality and global exposures amid financial, industry, and economic trends. Ensure the portfolio aligns with risk management guidelines and evolving methodologies.
Requirements
- Ability to perform in-depth counterparty, industry, and portfolio credit analysis for fund managers and banks
- Knowledge of credit risks inherent in derivatives and other trading floor products
- Proficiency in monitoring credit quality, exposures, and economic trends impacting portfolios
- Experience structuring credit facilities to mitigate trading-related risks
- Familiarity with due diligence processes involving legal, documentation, and risk teams
- Skill in interpreting financial, industry, business, and market data for credit recommendations
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth counterparty, industry and portfolio analysis supporting credit relationships for large European fund managers and Northern European banks
- Monitor the credit quality and global credit exposure of the portfolio by tracking counterparty financial condition, industry and economic trends
- Build and maintain relationships with CIBC marketers/traders and respond quickly to requests for credit facilities from the trading floor
- Provide expertise in the area of credit risk associated with trading floor business products
- Assist in the on-going monitoring of the terms and conditions of approved credit arrangements and identify changes in client financial condition or business
- Participate in due diligence and provide support to Legal, Documentation, trading room marketers and Risk Management
- Provide sound, timely, and well-communicated recommendations for credit facilities supported by thorough analysis of financial, industry, business, and market information
- Ensure that the portfolio meets appropriate risk management guidelines and remains current with changing methodologies
