AML Analysts conduct client due diligence on new and existing clients to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations in the UK (London and Cambridge), Paris, Luxembourg and Hong Kong. Work closely with the Senior AML Manager, Directors of non-US Risk & Compliance, Money Laundering Reporting Officers, and Conflicts teams. Identify potential risks to the firm and escalate as appropriate.

Liaise with partners, associates, clients, MLROs in London, Paris and Hong Kong, and Conflicts teams in London and Boston. Handle ad hoc AML queries and assist with projects relating to the firm’s adherence to legal and regulatory obligations outside the US. Partner with attorneys and clients to deliver solutions in litigation, regulatory compliance, and complex transactions.

Requirements

  • Law graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to conduct client due diligence using public sources like Companies House, Capital IQ, Lexis/Nexis
  • Knowledge of UK AML regulations and obligations in Paris, Luxembourg, Hong Kong
  • Skills in identifying and assessing client and matter risks
  • Experience liaising with legal professionals, MLROs, and conflicts teams
  • Analytical ability to research ownership structures and high-risk indicators

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client due diligence by identifying clients and obtaining information to evidence existence and ownership structures using Mint Global, Companies House, Capital IQ, Lexis/Nexis Corporate Affiliations and the internet
  • Liaise with partners, associates, and clients to obtain information and documentation not available from public sources
  • Complete risk assessments for both clients and matters
  • Identify high risk clients and escalate issues to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in relevant office(s)
  • Liaise with the Conflicts team to ensure all new client/matter opening requirements are completed
  • Advise on ongoing monitoring of clients/matters in accordance with legal/regulatory requirements
  • Handle ad hoc AML queries and assist with projects on regulatory adherence outside the US
