As Chief Compliance Officer (SMF 16 & 17), you will lead the compliance function for our London operations, ensuring regulatory obligations are met while enabling our rapid growth.

Day-to-day, you will oversee the design and implementation of compliance frameworks, manage regulatory relationships with the FCA, and provide strategic advice to the board and executive team. You will also drive the compliance risk assessment process and ensure that our products and services meet the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a senior compliance officer in financial services, ideally within a regulated fintech or bank
  • Previous experience holding or supporting SMF 16 and SMF 17 roles under the FCA Senior Managers and Certification Regime
  • Deep knowledge of UK financial services regulation, including FCA Handbook, PRA rules, and anti-money laundering requirements
  • Strong understanding of payments, e-money, and cross-border money transfer regulations
  • Experience managing regulatory relationships and inspections
  • Ability to influence and advise at board and executive level
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the compliance function as SMF 16 and SMF 17, ensuring regulatory compliance across all UK operations
  • Develop and maintain the compliance risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and controls
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the FCA and other regulatory bodies on compliance matters
  • Provide strategic compliance advice to the board, executive team, and business units
  • Oversee the monitoring and testing of compliance controls to ensure effectiveness
  • Drive the compliance training and awareness program across the organisation
  • Report on compliance risks and issues to senior management and the board
  • Support the development of new products and services from a compliance perspective
