As a Financial Crime Investigator, you will conduct important screening checks and investigations into new applicants and existing customers. You will use screening tools to match customer data against PEPs and Sanctions lists, and review transactional activity to identify financial crime risks.
You will work in small teams of exceptional people who are relentlessly resourceful, solving problems and finding smarter solutions. The team's objectives are to protect customers and society by preventing fraud and financial crime, while minimising customer friction through skilled and timely decisions.
This role offers the chance to take ownership across a broad remit from day one, driving material impact on the direction and success of Lendable. As the business grows, you may take on additional tasks to support the Financial Crime Team, with opportunities to identify product and process improvements.
Requirements
- Experience conducting financial crime screening checks and investigations
- Familiarity with PEPs and Sanctions lists and screening tools
- Ability to review transactional activity and identify suspicious patterns
- Strong initiative to determine risks associated with applications and customers
- Understanding of internal Suspicious Activity Report processes
- Attention to detail and ability to make timely, risk-based decisions
Responsibilities
- Conduct financial crime screening checks and investigations into new applicants and existing customers
- Use screening tools to match customer data against PEPs and Sanctions lists
- Review customer profile information and transactional activity to identify financial crime risks
- Take appropriate action on accounts based on risk assessment
- Submit internal Suspicious Activity Reports when suspicious activity is identified
- Support new application checks and existing customer monitoring
- Investigate potential Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and Sanctions matches, and assist with onboarding reviews
