About this role

Chip is growing fast and has very exciting plans, seeking a Senior Financial Crime Investigator to help make them happen. This role sits within the financial crime team in London's Canary Wharf area.

Day-to-day, you'll carry out Customer Due Diligence checks including PEPs and sanctions screening. You'll conduct investigations from trigger events like transaction monitoring alerts and source of wealth enquiries, identifying suspicious activity and making risk-based decisions.

Requirements

  • A keen interest in Financial Crime and Fraud
  • Comfortable working autonomously, learning quickly, and using initiative
  • A good understanding of risk mitigation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and investigative skills with the ability to make informed decisions using best judgement
  • Attention to detail across all areas of work
  • Previous experience working with data and using it to come up with recommendations for process enhancements

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out Customer Due Diligence (CDD) checks including PEPs and Sanctions screening
  • Conducting investigations from trigger events such as transaction monitoring alerts or source of wealth enquiries to identify suspicious activity
  • Performing manual tasks including document reviews and actioning risk-based account closures
  • Providing recommendations and decisions for financial crime related requests raised by other teams
  • Adhering to all relevant financial crime processes and procedures to complete operational workflows
  • Proactively identifying issues with current processes and implementing improvements
