The Senior Technology Risk Analyst role sits within the Division Centre Technology Risk team at Pacific Life Re in London. The company collaborates with insurance and reinsurance clients across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America on Life, Critical Illness, Income Protection and Longevity risks. It draws on the financial strength of a parent organisation established for over 145 years.

You will deliver technology risk management activities and provide subject matter expertise to the global Technology team. The position focuses on risk frameworks, incident management, data analytics and the safe adoption of emerging technologies such as AI. Work centres on identifying financial, reputational and operational impacts while driving process modernisation.

The role operates inside a global reinsurance environment that values intelligent risk-taking and investment in analytical technologies. You will act as a bridge between Technology and other lines of defence, including Operational Risk, Internal Audit and External Audit. Collaboration extends to divisional senior management and the Operational Risk Management Committee.

Opportunities exist to shape risk processes through automation, data analytics and AI-enabled solutions. The position supports client due diligence responses and risk assessments of new technologies entering the environment. This allows experienced professionals to deepen expertise in technology risk within a stable, long-term focused organisation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience of working within a risk / audit function

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with global colleagues to identify risks and assess potential financial, reputational and operational impacts.
  • Analyse and manage incidents and operational events, identify root causes and systemic control weaknesses using data analytics, and drive action plans to completion.
  • Define and maintain key risk indicators, explore automated data feeds and AI-driven insights, and prepare reporting for senior management and committees.
  • Participate in working groups on technology risk topics including cyber, IT asset management, data governance and the safe adoption of AI.
  • Provide SME input on risks, issues and events logged in the GRC platform and identify opportunities to enhance data quality and workflow automation.
  • Act as a bridge between Technology and other lines of defence such as Operational Risk, Internal Audit and External Audit.
  • Drive modernisation of technology risk processes through automation, data analytics and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Perform risk assessments of new technologies, including AI/ML solutions, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
