Risk CIB UK manages credit risk for BBVA’s UK Branch, acting as a critical pillar in the Group’s risk management framework. We ensure credit quality of wholesale proposals while integrating ESG factors for sustainable growth.
As a Corporate Credit Risk Analyst, support the team in safeguarding the bank's solvency while enabling business opportunities. Interpret the financial health of major UK and global corporations to navigate complex market shifts. Go beyond processing files to deliver impactful credit analysis.
Work at the heart of Corporate & Investment Banking in a global, diverse environment. Interact daily with Global Markets, Lending & Advisory, and Transactional businesses. Act as strategic partners for global corporate clients and institutional investors.
Contribute to end-to-end credit processes and build a professional network across geographies. Identify financial trends impacting client credit quality and propose proactive actions. Develop high-quality assessments focused on industrial sectors and diversified corporates.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow)
- Knowledge of Credit Risk principles and the CIB landscape highly desirable
- Interest in ESG integration within financial analysis
- Knowledge of rating tools highly valuable
- Previous experience in banking, consultancy, or corporate finance department highly valued
- Previous experience in Credit Risk Underwriting an advantage
- University Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or similar
- English: Full professional proficiency (written and oral) mandatory; Spanish fluency highly valued
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the end-to-end credit process, from initial pre-screening and financial analysis to ongoing monitoring of approved risks
- Develop high-quality credit assessments for CIB clients, focusing on industrial sectors and diversified corporates
- Assist in the preparation of strategic materials for Credit and Business Committees, providing data-driven insights
- Liaise with diverse internal and external stakeholders, building a professional network across different geographies
- Identify financial trends or events that could impact client credit quality, acting proactively to propose follow-up actions
