About this role
Legal & General is one of Europe's largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets. We are seeking an ETF Portfolio Manager to join L&G Asset Management, taking day-to-day responsibility for the investment management of ETFs and ensuring each fund performs in line with its investment objectives.
In this role you will manage physical equity index portfolios and/or synthetic swap-based portfolios, monitoring exposures, tracking error, and risk. You will be responsible for preparing rebalance calculations, providing index change analysis, and trading underlying physical equities and swaps while liaising with brokers to ensure precise execution and NAV reconciliation.
You will work closely with ETF Capital Markets, Sales, and Distribution teams, providing ad hoc support for client queries, RFPs, and fund-specific commentary. The environment is collaborative, with a focus on developing robust portfolio management and operational processes that scale with the growing ETF platform.

Requirements
- Previous experience managing physical equity index portfolios and/or synthetic swap-based portfolios
- Advanced Excel user (VBA preferred) and knowledge of Bloomberg
- Educated to degree level with further qualifications such as IMC, CFA, or CAIA
- Understanding of how indices work and are calculated
- Understanding of how ETFs are traded across primary and secondary markets
- Understanding of ETF replication models from synthetic to physical replication
- Understanding of UCITS regulations and guidance notes with respect to the management of ETF assets
Responsibilities
- Managing portfolio management of ETFs with a focus on physical equity index portfolios and/or synthetic swap-based portfolios
- Monitoring fund performance, NAV reconciliation, and attribution
- Preparing rebalance calculations and providing index change analysis
- Trading underlying physical equity and swaps, executing orders and liaising with brokers
- Ensuring appropriate trade execution and settlements with Authorized Participants
- Building bespoke tools for portfolio management, including daily analysis, risk monitoring, and order execution
- Providing ad hoc support to Sales teams, assisting with RFPs, and delivering fund-specific data and commentary
