Today, we manage more than £2.5 billion for private and institutional clients. The Energy team manages pools of capital to accelerate the transition to Net Zero through debt and equity investments.

Following rapid growth and a significant increase in our near-term pipeline, we seek an Investment Associate with excellent financial modelling skills on a 5-month contract, full time or part time. The role involves evaluating investments, building models and analysing financials in renewable energy and energy transition sectors. This position sits at the intersection of finance and sustainable energy.

Requirements

  • Proven relevant experience in energy transition investment
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis, including debt finance and project finance structures
  • Experience in renewables and/or storage assets in the UK or Europe
  • Grasp of renewable project commercials, project risks and associated management
  • Sound understanding of different debt financing structures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for sustainable energy and climate solutions

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new potential investments based on investment analysis and understanding the dynamics of relevant energy transition sectors
  • Build financial models including project finance and debt structures
  • Review and analyse target financial statements and forecasts
  • Support drafting investment proposals and investment committee presentations with input from investment directors
  • Understand and optimise project contractual structures from a financial perspective
  • Conduct research on selected sectors or market segments to identify and support origination of potential investment opportunities
  • Provide assistance in transaction administration, ensuring compliance with internal procedures
