About this role
Simmons Adaptive is the flexible resourcing solution of leading international law firm Simmons & Simmons. We are currently seeking a qualified lawyer with projects or commercial experience to support a key client based near or within commutable distance to North Yorkshire.
As an Adaptive consultant, you will be fully supported by a sponsoring Partner and a dedicated client team. You will engage regularly with the team while working on high-quality assignments that demand a dynamic and fast-moving approach.
This role sits within a collaborative environment where you will work autonomously on complex matters but also contribute as part of a broader legal team. The work involves global, projects-heavy businesses requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively under tight deadlines.
You will have access to the firm’s resources and Know-how, and the opportunity to participate in training and development. Simmons Adaptive also offers in-person and virtual networking events exclusively for consultants, along with firmwide webinars, providing valuable connection and growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with projects or commercial experience from a leading private practice or in-house environment
- Based in North Yorkshire or willing to travel there regularly
- Experience in marketing, logistics, and/or procurement
- Experience working in global, projects-heavy businesses
- Proven problem-solving ability and a collaborative approach
- Ability to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Hold the relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)
Responsibilities
- Support a key client of Simmons & Simmons on transactional banking and commercial matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate banking and finance documentation including loan agreements and security documents
- Advise on projects-heavy, global business transactions with a focus on marketing, logistics, or procurement
- Collaborate with a sponsoring Partner and client team to deliver high-quality legal resourcing solutions
- Work autonomously on assignments while maintaining effective communication with the wider team
- Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
