About this role
As the Group Financial Crime Governance and Risk Senior Manager at Wise, you will maintain, uplift and enforce the global financial crime risk program. This role bridges high-level enterprise strategy with granular operational execution as a critical pillar of the Second Line of Defence.
You provide robust oversight and constructive challenge to ensure risk assessments function as strategic tools. This drives smarter due diligence and a safer platform through continuous evolution of methodologies and KRIs.
Operating within Wise's global structure, you oversee sophisticated MI dashboards and reporting. These ensure financial crime controls operate effectively across all global and regional teams in a fast-moving fintech environment.
You will partner across the organisation to integrate the Group Financial Crime Risk Framework with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. This supports Wise's mission to move and manage the world's money with full speed and minimal fees.
Requirements
- Experience developing and maintaining financial crime risk frameworks integrated with enterprise risk management.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Crime Risk Assessment methodologies including country, customer and industry risk assessments.
- Proven ability to provide second line of defence oversight and constructive challenge on risk assessments.
- Experience designing and implementing KRIs and risk appetite frameworks in a global financial services environment.
- Expertise in building MI dashboards and reporting for financial crime controls across multiple regions.
- Ability to partner with first line teams on remediation plans and control monitoring in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and evolve the Group Financial Crime Risk Framework ensuring full integration with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Lead the design and implementation of core risk assessment methodologies including FCRA, Country Risk Assessment, Customer Risk Assessment and Industry Risk Assessment.
- Provide 2LoD oversight on global inherent risks assessed as part of the entity-wide FCRA including likelihood and impact assessment at Group level.
- Partner with the Group Wise Platform FinCrime Compliance team to ensure the FCRA captures specific inherent risks for various WP models.
- Collaborate with the First Line of Defence in the continuous review and setting of financial crime risk appetite.
- Monitor adherence to financial crime risk appetite and provide expert 2LoD support in defining remediation plans when breaches occur.
- Provide robust 2LoD oversight and challenge over the outputs of Wise's continuous control monitoring and collaborate on control uplifts.
- Support the development of sophisticated MI dashboards and reporting to ensure financial crime controls operate effectively across all teams.
