Headquartered in New York, Guggenheim offers a premier Investment Banking advisory practice from offices across New York, London and other cities. The internship program targets students and recent graduates pursuing Investment Banking careers in a dynamic advisory team. Established in April 2023, the inaugural European office provides a unique entrepreneurial opportunity.

London-based Financial Sponsors Group leads coverage and execution for private equity clients in the UK and Europe as part of the global FSG practice. Interns join deal teams as junior analysts on strategic advisory, M&A and financing transactions. They gain exposure to senior bankers, client representatives and junior bankers globally.

Candidates must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment valuing initiative, creativity, maturity and enthusiasm for learning. Genuine interest in the Financial Sponsors sector enhances fit for this fast-growing team. The role demands solid corporate finance knowledge and strong technical skills.

Interns receive hands-on training to jump-start their careers at a growing firm. The program runs January through June 2026, fostering meaningful relationships and deep sector insights.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interest in problem solving and client service
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
  • Genuine interest in finance, resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Understanding of financial valuation
  • Significant maturity and ability to work under pressure to meet client deadlines
  • Highly organized, proactive, with initiative to multitask and work with limited supervision
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform company and industry research to understand sector trends, client challenges and strategies
  • Prepare and participate in client presentations and transaction execution
  • Support deal teams in building, maintaining and using financial models
  • Perform financial and valuation analysis including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout and multiples valuation
  • Develop understanding of Investment Banking products and services: Debt, Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions and Restructuring
  • Interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers and accountants
