About this role

Legal & General is seeking an Associate Portfolio Manager to join a collaborative and high-performing Private Credit team. This role offers an opportunity for those with early career front office investment experience to develop their expertise and contribute to portfolio performance. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Supporting the management and performance of Private Credit investment portfolios is a core responsibility. You will assist with executing trades and investments from inception through to completion and ongoing monitoring, analysing investment value and tracking performance against objectives. Additionally, monitoring markets to identify potential investment and disinvestment opportunities is key.

The team operates within a well-governed and regulated environment, part of one of Europe's largest asset managers. You will collaborate with stakeholders on funding, hedging, and liquidity management activities while producing regular reports for internal and external stakeholders. This collaborative setting allows for close interaction with senior professionals across the business.

This role provides an excellent platform to enhance analytical capabilities and contribute to investment strategies. There is scope to develop expertise in private credit and fixed income markets, with an interest in applying data, technology, or AI being a huge plus. The position offers the chance to deliver strong outcomes for clients.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a front office or investment-related role
  • Strong understanding of Private Credit, Fixed Income markets and macroeconomic factors
  • Awareness of portfolio liquidity, capital constraints and risk management principles
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and developing decision-making skills
  • Interest in applying data, technology or AI within a financial context

Responsibilities

  • Support the management and performance of Private Credit investment portfolios
  • Assist with executing trades and investments from inception through to completion and ongoing monitoring
  • Analyse investment value and track performance against objectives
  • Monitor markets and identify potential investment and disinvestment opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of investment strategies to optimise returns within risk appetite
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on funding, hedging and liquidity management activities
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Enhance analytical tools and capabilities to improve team efficiency and insight
